Prominent Citizens Room- 1st Floor
This original room of the Bethel Historical Society was once kept open by Walt Carter and Frank Manning. Now, Walt Carver's surveyor equipment is proudly displayed in one corner of this room.
There are severl smaller displays housed in this smaller room. Pictures and artifacts from Obed Dunham, Dr. William E. Thompson, Edmond G. Burke, Jesse Grant (father of President Ulysses Grant),Senator Thomas Morris and captain Andrew Pinkham. They may be gone, but their legacy lives on. Some of the people who founded and built Bethel and Tate Township have ancestors in this area still. All of them contributed to the interesting history of how Bethel became to be.
