Thank You Grant Career Center Students & Staff

The Bethel Historical Society wants to send out a huge THANK YOU to teachers Betsy Weeks and Chris Wheeler and their amazing 12 students they brought to the Bethel Historical Museum last Friday for Grant Give Back Day!

Grant Career Center has always been a great partner with the museum and support us by sending help with tasks that we are unable to accomplish.

This year the students helped with these tasks:

Painted the ceiling and walls in the furnace room; carried an old, heavy, large table down from the second floor and loaded it on a trailer (donated to Empower Youth); hauled many items from the basement out to the storage shed; hauled about 30 folding chairs from the second floor to the basement; painted a shelf for the Scout Gallery; moved file drawers and file cabinets around in the Archive Room for easier access; dug up an old mailbox post; put potting soil in the outdoor flower pots; and painted outdoor rails.

Not only did they do all this work, but we were also impressed by the leadership from the teachers and the courtesy and commitment to the job by all the students. They were kind and respectful to the museum volunteers and to the displays and artifacts in the museum. They cleaned up and picked up any mess that was created from their work.

We appreciate all they did to help make the Bethel Historical Museum a showplace for all!
